Accessibility statement
Everyone should be able to take part.
KINNDship is a community you join, vote in, and build with. That only works if the site works for you. This page says what we aim for, what we have done, what is still in the way, and how to reach us when something blocks you.
Our standard
We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across kinndship.com and the member portal. New pages are built against that target. Older pages are being brought up to it.
What we have done
- Colour contrast: the design system pairs Ink text on Paper and White backgrounds at or above the AA ratio. Gold is used for accents and large text, not for small body copy.
- Keyboard: every form, vote button and navigation link can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
- Structure: one main heading per page, labelled form fields, and landmarks for header, main content and footer.
- Motion: decorative animation respects your system's reduced-motion setting.
- Text: body copy is set at 17 to 18 pixels with generous line height and can be resized to 200 percent without loss of content.
Known issues
- Some images in the site header and footer are missing descriptive text. We are adding it.
- Event pages are missing a main heading in the page structure. A fix is scheduled.
- Parts of the member portal (the planning board's drag and drop) also offer button controls, but screen-reader announcements are still basic.
Tell us when something is in your way
Use the contact form and choose any subject. Say which page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use if any. A person replies within two business days and we treat access blockers as bugs, not feedback.
