Our story

One relationship became a corridor.

KINNDship began with a simple observation on the ground in Georgia and Japan: both places were full of people, institutions and businesses that wanted to work together, and no one whose job it was to make that easy. Chambers convened. Agencies produced. Cities planned. Nobody owned the whole job. So we took it.

Pronounced /kin.ship/. Practiced on purpose.

The name

Read our name three ways. Kin: the people you build with. Kind: how you treat them. And in Japanese, 金 kin means gold.

We mean all of it. The “ship” in our name stands for stewardship: what we build together, we look after together. Our name is pronounced /kin.ship/. Gold is the standard we hold the work to: honest stage labels, straight terms, and credit shared with the people who did the work.

Where this started

It started with a delegation to Japan.

A community-led trip became an organization. The Georgia–Japan corridor is where we prove the model: real programs, real events, real projects. What works here is designed to travel to the next corridor.

How we work

Develop. Produce. Manage.

We are one operator doing three jobs for the five communities that make any place work: neighbors, campuses, professionals, public partners and private partners. See the four engines that do the work

Produce the work

We run the events, media and delegations that make the work visible and real.

Gatherings
Manage

We keep the community working: memberships, directories, opportunity lists, recognition, and the connective tissue in between.

A note on why

“Too many people and communities help create value without fully sharing in the opportunity it generates. That is the problem KINNDship exists to work on.”
